Day 1: Brussels

And we're off! Our travel went pretty smoothly (ignoring M's broken suitcase handle) and we arrived in Brussels exhausted but happy to have made it. After waiting around for our hotel-arranged taxi and not finding the driver, we grabbed a cab. Twenty minutes later we were in Morocco... that is, we were in the Hotel Welcome's "Morocco" Room.

It was only 9:00am by that time so we decided to do all of our sightseeing. Brussels was quiet, the temperature was pleasant, and we enjoyed walking for hours, stopping at the Museum of Instrumental Music and the Modern and Ancient Art Museum.

Finally, jet lag caught up with us and we rested (well, napped) until later in the evening when we walked about a block to a classic Belgian restaurant, Restaurant le Pre Sale. By the time we finished eating, I could barely keep my eyes open.

Meanwhile, we had been moved to the decorative "Tahiti" Room. Exhausted, we fell asleep almost immediately.
